DC League of Super-Pets Posters Put the Spotlight on the Justice League

A whole host of new posters for Warner Bros.’ upcoming animated DC outing, DC League of Super-Pets, puts the spotlight on the Justice League. Released via social media and the official account for DC League of Super-Pets, the likes of John Krasinski as Superman and Keanu Reeves as Batman take center stage alongside the rest of the human characters.

The rest of the promos reveal new looks at the Justice League and the rest of the human supporting cast, which includes Olivia Wilde (Don’t Worry Darling) as Lois Lane, Jameela Jamil (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) as Diana Prince AKA Wonder Woman, Jemaine Clement (Avatar: The Way of Water) as Arthur Curry AKA Aquaman, John Early (The Disaster Artist) as Barry Allen AKA The Flash, Daveed Diggs (Blindspotting

) as Victor Stone AKA Cyborg, Dascha Polanco (In the Heights) as Jessica Cruz / Green Lantern, and Marc Maron (GLOW) as Lex Luthor.

In DC League of Super-Pets, Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side. When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes.

While these new posters may give all the attention to the Justice League, they will not be at the forefront of DC League of Super-Pets. Instead, as the title so obviously suggests, the DC outing will be led by the pets of the familiar superheroes. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars as the voice of Krypto the Super-Dog, a Kryptonian Labrador retriever and Superman’s dog, with his frequent co-star Kevin Hart on board to voice the dog of The Dark Knight, Ace the Bat-Hound, a hound who gains super strength and invulnerability.

The rest of the animated critters will be voiced by Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live) as Lulu, a hairless guinea pig; Vanessa Bayer (Trainwreck) as PB, a potbellied pig who acquires the ability to grow and shrink in scale and the pet of Wonder Woman; Natasha Lyonne (Show Dogs) as Merton, a turtle who acquires super speed and the Flash’s pet; Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Chip, a squirrel and the pet of Green Lantern who acquires electrokinesis; and finally Thomas Middleditch (Godzilla: King of the Monsters) as a white Guinea pig recruited by Lulu.

DC League of Super-Pets marks the directorial debut of Jared Stern, who is best known for his writing credits on the likes of The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie. Stern will direct the DC project from a screenplay penned by frequent collaborator John Whittington.

DC League of Super-Pets will be unleashed later this month, with the animated adventure scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on July 29, 2022, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
