Mohsin Khan Rishabh Pant Wicket

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowler Mohsin Khan picked the key wicket of Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Rishabh Pant as the Delhi-based side struggled to keep up with the run rate in the 45th match of the IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium n Mumbai on May 1.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batted first in the day game of the doubleheader after KL Rahul won the toss. Lucknow made one change as Avesh Khan was replaced by K Gowtham, while Delhi Capitals came into the match unchanged.

KL Rahul’s 77 was the highest score by a Lucknow Super Giants batter in the match, while Deepak Hooda made 52 in 34 balls. Rahul hit 4 fours and 5 sixes in his knock as well. Apart from them, Quinton de Kock made 23 and Marcus Stoinis added 17* as LSG managed a good-looking 195/3 in 20 overs.

For the Delhi Capitals, Shardul Thakur was the only wicket-taker with figures of 3/40 in 4 overs.

Rishabh Pant Dismissed For 44 By Mohsin Khan, As Delhi Capitals Fall Behind In Tough Chase

In reply, Lucknow Super Giants bowlers Dushmantha Chameera and Mohsin Khan troubled the Delhi batters with their pace and bounce, as Chameera dismissed Prithvi Shaw for 5, while Warner fell to Mohsin for 3 runs.

Captain Rishabh Pant and Mitchell Marsh added 60 runs for the third wicket to bring DC back on track in the chase, but then K Gowtham had Marsh caught behind by Quinton de Kock, but the replays and snickometer showed no sound as the ball passed the bat.

Much was dependent on Rishabh Pant as fans and experts expected the captain to lead from the front. But the LSG bowlers bowled brilliantly to keep the batters in check and behind the rising net run rate.

In the end, Pant got out trying to up the ante in the 13th over as he tried to hit Mohsin Khan for a six by flicking him over leg side, but Mohsin’s delivery was bowled on the stumps and it continued on its path, as Pant missed his shot and the ball clattered into the stump, sending Pant back for 44 runs.
