Heeramandi is the upcoming magnum opus series from the legendary filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is popular for historic and period drama movies. For the first time, Sanjay’s passion project Heeramandi series joined hands with the streaming platform Netflix. It features talented and gorgeous actors that include Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Huma Qureshi among others are taking lead roles in the series. Netflix has partnered with this epic project and it will be premiering soon on their platform.
This series has a seven-episode that explores stories of courtesans and the hidden cultural reality of Heeramandi (an area of Lahore, which is now in Pakistan), a dazzling district, during pre-Independence India. The first episode will be piloted by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the remaining 6 episodes will be directed by Vibhu Singh who assisted Sanjay Bhansali on Saawariya, Guzaarish, and more.
