Meanwhile, LSG defeated Punjab by 20 runs to register their sixth win of the season. It took them up to the third spot on the points table, further cementing their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.

After batting first, LSG huffed and puffed its way to 153/8. They were in a strong position at 98/1 but a stunning collapse saw them fall to 111/6 in double-quick time.

Lower-order cameos from Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, and Mohsin Khan saw them boost their total to 153, which turned out to be enough for a strong PBKS lineup.

It was an excellent bowling effort from LSG, with Mohsin being the pick of the bowlers. He had impressive figures of 3/24 in four overs and took the crucial wicket of Liam Livingstone in the middle overs.
