He may be well-recognized most for his role in the Netflix miniseries When They See Us, but Jharrel Jerome has gained very little recognition for his talent. Jerome has also starred in 2016’s acclaimed drama film Moonlight, which even won the Academy Award for Best Picture. When auditioning originally for “Young Korey” in When They See Us, director Ava DuVernay asked him to read the script for “older Korey” and was incredibly impressed with his talents. Eventually, he was the only actor to be cast for both roles of the younger and older characters, which means he was able to act as both a teenager and an older adult, with two very different personalities and maturity levels – talented, right?

Having two roles to be responsible for brought a great challenge and double the work for Jerome, but he was committed and managed to pull it off, earning himself an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor. Having been given the chance, his potential was noticed, and now it’s time for the world to recognize the dedication, hard work, and pure talent of Jharrel Jerome.

Canadian actor Jacob Tremblay started his acting career at only five years old. His debut role was in Smurfs 2 in 2013, but he quickly climbed the ladder and only two years later appeared as Jack Newsom in Room, where he even won himself the Critics Choice Award for Best Young Performer. Since then, his impressive career has escalated and he’s appeared in hits like 2017’s Wonder, where he brilliantly played a child with Treacher Collins Syndrome, and 2019’s sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep.

Recently, he has bagged himself more voice acting roles, between the animated superhero comedy Harley Quinn (as Damian Wayne / Robin) and Pixar’s Luca last year. We have had the pleasure of watching this adorable actor (and Star Wars and LEGO super-fan) evolve and grow into an amazing talent, which is for some strange reason still being quite unnoticed. He has thrown himself into every role and there’s no doubt that he will be hitting our screens again soon, where that’s behind an animation or in person, we can’t wait.
