Delhi Capitals lost their previous match against Chennai Super Kings. They lost the match by 91 runs and the loss came as a big dent to their playoff chances. Delhi are on 10 points and needs to win their remaining three games to make the playoffs which is seemingly very difficult at this point. They have not yet won two games on the bounce and have failed to gather any momentum from the games that they have won. The RR vs DC game thus becomes a must-win for Delhi Capitals to stay in playoff contention.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, are placed third on the points table with 14 points and will get to 16 if they beat DC. In the process, they will be tied on points with the top two teams and get closer to sealing the playoffs berth. Jos Buttler has been leading the charge with the bat for Rajasthan with their bowling attack one of the best this season.

The evening of the RR vs DC matchday on Saturday in Mumbai is expected to be around 35 to 40degrees. There is no threat of rain as the conditions for the game are expected to be clear and very warm as per Accuweather. Humidity is also expected to be around 50 degrees.

DY Patil Stadium has been a high-scoring ground like the other venues in Mumbai. The stadium has only witnessed IPL matches in the past and has never hosted an international game. The last match of IPL 2022 at the stadium was the one between CSK and DC with Chennai scoring over 200 runs on a placid batting wicket.

All the pitches will now turn and bounce a little more than in the first half of the season with the tracks tiring out and becoming slower. Despite the pitches turning, batsmen have their chance to get big scores once they are set on the wicket.
