Harpreet Brar MoTM SRH vs PBKS

Punjab Kings were playing their last league game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad. It was a dead rubber game. More than anything else both teams were looking to end their campaign with a win.

At the end of the day, PBKS won rather comprehensively as they smashed SRH with 5 wickets with 29 balls to spare. Harpreet Brar was the star for PBKS.

Batting first SRH couldn’t post much total on the board as they managed just 157 runs in their first innings.

SRH could post that total only because Washington Sundar and Romario Shepherd in the end added important runs. Before that, it was only Abhishek Sharma who got a good start. Apart from him, all other SRH batters struggled.

I Enjoyed Aiden Markram’s Wicket: Harpreet Brar

Most of the damage was done by spinner Harpreet Brar of PBKS. He picked up important wickets of Rahul Tripathi and Abhishek Sharma and rocked SRH after both Abhishek and Tripathi had a 47 run partnership.

He also got the important wicket of Aiden Markram who was looking in good touch. He was helped by Jitesh Sharma as he did a brilliant stumping to get rid of the South African.

For his performance, Brar was declared the player of the match. After the game, Brar said, “When we came here, we thought it was a good pitch for the spinners. I have conceded runs and so have the other spinners in the tournament, so I wanted to finish on a good note today. I just tried to bowl in the right areas and I wanted to keep calm under pressure.”

“I tried to work on my skills as much as possible. Felt good after getting his (Markram’s) wicket. I got some turn and bounce on that ball, pleased that he got stumped. I am happy for Arshdeep, now that he will play for India. That is what every player dreams of, playing for their country one day. I need to improve on a few areas before the next season. I have been away from home for 3-4 months, so I want to spend some time with my family,” he further added.
